Jane’s Blog Is Ringworm Contagious?

Ringworm is a contagious fungal infection caused by mold-like parasites that live on the cells in the outer layer of your skin.. No worms involved. The name “ringworm” probably comes from the red raised ring shaped rash with a scaly border and is often itchy. Sometimes, the spots have an "active" outer border which slowly grows outwards spreading as the condition fungus advances. Sometimes blister-like lesions can appear, particularly in the active border. Heat and moisture help fungi grow and thrive, which makes them more commonly found in skin folds such as those in the groin or between the toes....
